Walter David Bertsche, Jr. 1947 - 2015

Walter David “Dave” Bertsche Jr. passed away on December 11, 2015 in his residence in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He was 68.

Dave was born on August 1, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Walter and Patricia (Blackwell) Bertsche.  Dave attended Madeira High School and The University of Cincinnati, attaining Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees.  Dave married Ann Banks in August 1968.

Dave was an avid tennis player and boater, spending many hours with friends (and opponents) at the Indoor Tennis Club, the Ohio River Launch Club, and the Cincinnati Power Squadron (in which he proudly served as Commander).  And, of course, there were the many friends at the Madeira Kroger Coffee Club!

Dave is survived by his father, Walter David Bertsche, his three sons; Walter David Bertsche III, Christopher Allen Bertsche and Jonathan Tyler Bertsche, his sister Jill (Bruce) Mitchell, and brother Ken (Dawn) Bertsche. He was preceded in death by Ann, his wife of 47 years, who passed away on April 2 of this year.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 o’clock p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at the Thomas Justin Funeral Home, 7500 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Bertsche Family.  So very sad for his children, his father and Jill to lose him so soon after losing Ann.   RIP David!

I am so sorry for the loss of Walt.  I have many wonderful memories of him and Ann from our time in Madeira. My prayers go out to Jill and the family. I'm sure Ann and Walt are in Heaven together again.

Walt and I were childhood firends & neighbors in Mt. Washington back in the 50's.  His Mom & Dad were our Cub Scout leaders and they had such a positive influence on our lives!  But I find comfort in knowing that we will all be together again in God's Kingdom...sooner tha later!  :)

So very sorry to hear of the tragic loss this awesome couple's children must be experiencing, as well as all those they have come to know along the way.  Prayers for healing and peace in knowing they will one day be reunited in God's Kingdom.
